Computer Networking is a basic concept of connecting devices together for the purpose of exchanging data and connecting to the internet.

What do I need to network?

  1. Cabling
  2. Router - used for reaching the internet and segmenting a network
  3. Modem or device provided by an ISP —This varies based on whether the internet type is Fiber, Cable, DSL, Mobile, or Satellite
  4. Switches - common as a network increases in size
  5. End User Devices - Computers, Printers, Servers
  6. Internet of Things (IoT) – Devices that connect to the internet that are not traditional computers. This can be refrigerators, locks, wearables, cars, and Ai devices (Siri and Google Nest).
