So You Want to be a WGU Student

Network and Security Foundation is a course that prepares you for the material you will deal with in CompTIA Certifications Net+ (Networks - D325) and Sec+ (Network and Security Applications D329). It is, unfortunately, very disorganized in its presentation, so I will attempt to focus key topics that will be important for both D315 and Net+ (D325)

This course should average at least two weeks for a seasoned IT student due to its sheer volume of material. For anyone else, Realistically, it will take closer to four weeks.

DISCLAIMER: The Current layout includes over 60 lessons and sub-lesson categories with three sections overall.

• These videos span multiple certification prep videos and older videos from previous instructors.
• Often, the videos contain materials specifically for that certification rather than this course.
• The readings are approximately 250+ pages worth of reading. It took me approximately two weeks to go through at 2x speed and 35-40 hours a week.
• Some sections will only provide readings and no videos. Some videos are repeated, and some are so simple that they are not worth watching.
• I have done my best to summarize critical parts and not repeat content that was already in previous sections.
• If the PowerPoints are confusing, reference the appropriate lesson, watch the video, or read the reading. I do not suggest reading and watching all of the material. It is excessive, and most of the material is not covered on the exam.
